My Mother

My mother died as a result of domestic violence at the hand of a monster. I was 14 years old and in one day, I lost my mom, my brothers, my sisters, my friends, my home and had to move to another state. It was the worst Christmas of my life. If I could spend one day with anyone in the world I would spend it with her and tell her over and over how much I love her.

My Best Friend

Where to begin?  I could write a book on how much I love her and just how special she is to me.  I love her more than a sister.  We have known each other for 12 years, we have laughed, loved, cried, and shared everything.  I don't think either one of us would survive without the other. She is the definition of "survivor", literally.  Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer on July, 10 2003.  I will never forget that day, she wasn't even 31 years old.  I was terrified.  I hadn't felt such pain since I lost my mother.  She definately handled it better then I did, and she is now cancer free! She is the main reason I got involved with Relay For Life. I have never seen such dedication and commitment.  She has been in the paper, she has been in the newspaper, on the radio, and she organizes great fundraisers for the cause.  She and I are co-chairing the Relay Survival Dinner this year.  I am humbled to be beside her. If you looked in the dictionary for the word wonderful, I am sure you would find her name. I could go on and on, but there aren't enough words or enough room.  I encourage everyone who reads this to get involved with Relay.  I haven't met anyone who hasn't been touched by some form of cancer.

Josh

I have a gorgeous step-son too!  Aint I just the luckiest woman around?  His name is Josh and he is attending Lenoir Community College. He is playing baseball and if I may  say so, he is pretty damned good.  His senior year his team won the 2A State Championship!  Go Hawks!  I am very proud of him too, and I love him like my own.  I will include some pictures of him too.

Jason, Justin and Acrista

Well, this is the part everyone probably dreads,, pictures of the kids.  I wouldn't be much of a mom if I didn't go there.. LOL
My oldest son is Jason he is 27 now, then my youngest son, Justin who is 24. Justin has a beautiful wife, Acrista and they blessed me with my Abbi.  I always wanted a daughter and now I have Acrista.
So I really am blessed to have all of them, and I love them beyond what words could say.  I am attaching a few pictures.

This is the true  story of how we met, it's really kind of funny now, and definately a story for Abbi later.  I was dating a guy who was in the Air Force, and he was away on assignment.  When he was supposed to come home I borrowed a friend's car and decided to suprise him by picking him up at the airport.  Well,,, that didn't happen!  I was on the interstate and it was dark, I saw something in front of me, so I swerved to avoid what ever it was, I over compensated and next thing I know the car is flipping over and over, it actually flipped three times and came to rest upside down. I am a firm believer in seat belts people!  I wasn't hurt, thank God, but the ambulance arrived, they put this collar around my neck, laid me on a stiff board and took me to the hospital. I wasn't given a choice based on the damage to the vehicle.  Long story short, I was released and there was this cute little guy on the ambulance, I knew the driver from college, so I called and told her to tell him anytime he wanted a date to call.  He called that night and we have been together ever since.  Best thing he EVER picked up on the side of the road.  I did find out later from the state trooper, that the "thing" I swerved to avoid was a child.  There were alot of angels working that night.
